Greetings to all my forum friends, Spook, John Sargent, Volvo Dad and others.
New problem. Without my 4 940's what would I do with all the extra time?
My wife called yesterday in a panic from the Mass. Pike with the car smoking and the temp gauge red lined. After I calmed her down with help from the 19 year old car crasher who happened to be aboard. (Its interesting how auto adversity has mellowed my daughter who ordinarily carps endlessly about the "unreliable" car she has to drive. This time she was in a kind of take charge mood.
The gals nursed the car to an exit and I met them in Newton about 20 minutes from home. I exchanged my 940 for the disabled one and with a couple of gallons of water aboard, nursed it home. A good friend stopped by and in a minute identified the problem.
Heater hose.
Its the one that is under the intake manifold and appears to be impossible to access without removing a lot of stuff, most specifically the manifold. But, that just can't be true or if it is ... woe is me!
I haven't checked the FAQa, which I will do. But that's the problem for anyone who has a solution, I am grateful, in advance.
