I'm going to do the trans flush and since I won't have someone to help me shut the engine off to replace 3 quarts has anyone put a shut off valve in the drain line so I won't have to run back and forth?

Would it damage the trans if I put in the valve shut it and leave the engine running to put the 3 quarts back in?

I thought it would be a good idea if it won't damage the trans.
