S90 exhaust . . . how to stop a leak? S90-V90 1998

The car is a 1998 S90. Just replaced the entire, rotted exhaust system from behind the cat. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to make the connection from the end of the cat pipe to the front of the exhaust pipe to seal. There is a donut gasket and a bizarre clamp that go there (I bought all new parts). I just can't figure out how the clamp would ever make it seal. Here's the clamp:

What's the trick? Anyone have a guess? I got it probably 85% sealed, but it still leaks significantly.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Nate
