Putting an IPOD into a 6 V car- advice sought 444-544

I understand you need:
-a 6 to 12v converter
-an amp
-speakers

6 to 12V converter - I found 3 providers:
-$60 http://www.classicindustries.com/truck/parts/tk1210c.html
-$370! http://www.powerstream.com/dc6-12.htm
-$150 http://www.6to12volt.com/ (out of stock until March)
Anyone know for sure if the $60 unit will do what I am looking for?

an amp - any recommendations?

speakers - ditto
