Well, my 16yo sister decided to follow in her brother's foot steps and bought a '86 744 GLE for $362... which has a couple for of problems. Most of the problems I can fix or attempt to with the help of the FAQ. One I am stumped by though.

The "key in the ignition when the door is open" bell goes off when the key is in the ignition all the time whether the door is open or not.

And just as you think you have it all figured it out here is the catch: It can be turned on or off by the radio. Now this doesn't always work. My dad says that he turned the radio on and off but it didn't change anything.

PS: The radio doesn't work either, but I think that might have to do with the broken antenna :)
