Stalled on steep hill 200 1990

Today it happened the second time within a week, that the engine just went off on a steep hill. Started straight away again though. Tank was 2/3 full but I still assume fuel problem. What should I check first? Fuel pumps, fuel relays or filter? Or could it be something totally different?
