1991 780 No Start - No Dashlights 700

Hey All, I am having a problem with my 780. A few days ago I attempted to replace the ignition switch as it was working fine but was starting to loose the sure click feel of a new nicely working one.

I got everything apart and installed the new one and found the new one was faulty (it did not even turn.) So I re-installed the original one and and the car worked fine for a few days.

Then about 2 days ago (After a car wash... if it matters) I tried to start the car and the dash lights lit and all that happened was a click in the engine compartment. I puled the key out and restarted it and it fired right up, but now with a check engine light as well as the bulb out indicator light that came on with the the left turn signal going and the brakes applied. I said to myself I gotta have a look this weekend.

This morning I experienced the same thing... click... check engine light... start. I tried to pull the codes to no success and when I went to start it a second time the dash and the capability to start the car went dead. So now the symptoms are as follows:

Dash indicator lights are all dead.
Fuel pump hum does not happen when the key is turned.
Turn the key to start engine and nothing at all.
Key activates climate control, and radio.
All lights, windows, mirrors, sunroof, and trunk release all work. Turn signals work. Dome light works.

Seems like every aspect of the car works, except current going to the dash lights and anything related to starting the engine.

Any help is appreciated!

David
