I am 90% sure this issue is a wind noise... except I don't think it is.
My 240 Sedan has a loose windshield trim at the upper passenger's side due to broken clips so when I heard a high pitch singing at the upper limits of my hearing range, I assumed it was wind noise. The last two days we have had severe winds which should have eliminated any steady-state whistling that begins at 40 mph.
So what else could cause a very high pitched noise starting at 40 mph that is always evident at stead-state and acceleration and intermittent at deceleration. It just started about a week ago when things got real cold. It does occasionally go away for no reason.
My second guess was center support bearing or wheel bearing but it just seems too high pitched for that.
