My volvo. It's chirping inconsistently, and started after 4 miles of easy driving (with 2 mild hills). I drove it 95 miles last year with no problems or noises. This appeared suddenly.

Any suggestions on what to check for a metal-on-metal chirping noise? It sounds loudest under the car and doesn't sound like it's inside the engine.

I got it towed home. Le sigh....
