multiple misfire S90-V90

FYI on misfire codes - Accelerating from a stop onto the highway, my relatively new to me 98 v90 started throwing Check Engine Light blinks at me. Turned out to be P0300, P0301, P0305 - misfires at multiple and identified cylinders. I picked up some unbelievably expensive Volvo spark plugs at the dealership and went in for a look see. Turns out every last ignition coil had a long crack, and the plugs were long due for a change. After changing the plugs and smoothing some dielectric grease into the cracks all is well in Volvoland. I ordered 6 replacement coils from FCP Groton due in a day or two, but with less resistance on the plugs and a little extra resistance due to the grease, we have no issues around town. Ironically, this prompted me to do recon on the plugs on the 96 850 T5 Turbo and this turned into much more of a hassle. The 850 has wires and cap/rotor which more or less disintegrated upon removal. One plug was threatening to go nuclear and snap, but patience and PB Blaster were able to talk it way from the cliff. All was back in place and purring before the sun went down. Happy New Year Observance Day Volvo tuneup clinic!
