Hi all. Just recently acquired a VDO 5 bar oil pressure sending unit of the proper thread for my 84 244. The unit is clearly marked 0-5bar for gauge output, but doesn't have a clear marking for the warning/dummy light.
I bought this for fun, but am now installing it out of necessity. The oil warning light is flickering below 900 rpm. I want to eliminate the old dummy sensor as the cause before replacing the oil pump.
I think the warning threshold on the new sending unit is around 7psi, because next to the gauge range it says .3+.15 bar, which is around 7psi. I do not know what the threshold is of the old one, haven't looked to be honest.
I was just curious if I was correct that the .3+.15 =~ 7psi was the warning threshold on the new sensor and that the new sensor's threshold is at or more conservative than the old warning threshold. I should know when I pull the old one as it is likely stamped, but I would like to know before hand.
