780 seat structure 700

I have two 780 front seats that I need to transport 700 miles. If I can separate the backs from the seats, that is an east and much cheaper task. I don't need to disassemble them any more than that. I looked at them some time ago and it seems the back assembly was attached to the seat assembly with a large shaft that appeared permanent. Is there any way to separate the two "halves" with normal tools?
