hi sages- 92 240 wagon- on startup and until temp gage gets to 1/2 engine has noticeable misfire particularly on acceleration. clears up when warmed up and ok for rest of day. heres what i have checked ok : sparkplugs, cap and rotor , bougicord wires, terminal ends. here is my theory: possible weak coil since when warmed up it smooths out- do know that weak spark coils will act like this . plan is to remove inspect and clean coil and substitute one of the used coils i have . do have a box of coils from various different makes. dont think substituting would be a problem. what think you? would like advice on additonal tests and options if the coil change doesnt work. in the last year various advice on this excellent forum has allowed me to do a number of repairs and saved me a fortune in repairs by avoiding dealers and other shysters. (speedometer, intank fuel pump/sender, fuses, fuel gage, clutch adjustment,etc.). by the way been reading about the mother of all volvo repairs- the hellacious blower motor r and r. wow if i didnt already now how to cuss that alone would teach me all i need to know. thanks tons. oldduke
