TALK ABOUT A PRICE SHOCK...nivomats??? 900 1991

hi all...
some questions i have concerning my 1991 940 se sedan:

1)does my vehicle have nivomats on the rear suspension?

i'm not sure what the difference is between shocks since i rarely look at them. i read that all 940 se sedans are equiped with IRS and nivomats. i bought the car for $550 and it had a slight sag in the back . It appears as if the previous owner replaced only one side, because the drivers side is not very rusted at all, the coil looks much newer. If this is the case, could i then just replace the sagging side now? i think the previous owner might have been an idiot... because they also cut through the ebrake cable. going to try to fix that this weekend when i do the brakes an rotors. i am hoping i don't get a nasty surprise with them.

2) aside from blown shock absorbers, is there any reason for a sag in the rear of the car to one side? there is barely tire clearance.

3) Can you direct me to a thread or tell me which tech manual is best for replacement project. my friend is a mechanic but he's a ford mechanic. i'm sure that fords are not that similar to this but i don't work on cars that often.

4) is it possible to convert the car to regualar shocks that don't cost 415 each? i saw a post about conversion, but was not sure if that was on an IRS or Live Axle...

Thanks in advance for any help!
