Trying to reinstall the replacement head on the 92 945T after a head gasket failure warped head etc. When removing I left the exhaust manifold/turbo assembly intact and pushed aside. Now than I'm installing the head I can't seem to both 1. Have the new exhaust studs engage the exhaust manifold while, 2. lining up the head on the raised bolt things.
I'm hesitant to do a lot of maneuvering for fear of scratching the head surface or mangling the new head gasket. I have a helper but we can't seem to make that last rotation to get the head flat on the block while still on the (loose) manifold.
Do I need to unbolt more of the exhaust system now? Any suggestions appreciated.
