Greets great folks of the wise brickboard!

I have a intermittent problem with fuse #1 in my '88 245 - occasionally i'm left w/o wipers and stereo. I remove the fuse, put it back, restart the car and every thing is fine. Rotating the fuse doesn't fix the problem - and the car must be shut off for it to be "reset" Fuse has been replaced with a known good one of the correct value.

where to start?
