heater valve vacuum line question 700

i'm in the middle of a headgasket job and i'm replacing the heater hose that connects to the heater valve. While i was messing with the hose the vacuum line that hooks up the the heater valve came off. i'm sort of confused of how everything goes back on. i have a hard plastic line that appears like it should fit into a rubber connector that hooks on the heater valve but it seems like there should be another line that actually connects to the heater valve. I don't see any other unhooked vacuum lines anywhere in this are. here is a photo
