Intrigued? So, I'm absolutely tired of sitting on my 92 wagon's thoroughly crapped-out pleather seat, and decided to change over to cloth. My friendly Volvo boneyard pulled me two beige/brown cloth seats where the upholstery is in great shape, but the seatback foam is crushed on the outside edges (the way the all get eventually). The foam in the wagon, however, is still solid. So, I'm making two great cloth seats out of all the good parts from both sets that I now have. The cloth, though, is filthy! Accordingly, I've stripped the upholstery and will be putting it all into the washing machine tomorrow. I'll wash in cold. I'll air dry everything. I'll fluff it all in the dryer with delicate heat after it's air dry. And I'll anticipate re-covering the seat frames with nice, clean cloth.
Now, I'm sure some out there have already done this, so the question is what kind of detergent did you use....Woolite, or similar? Or something more substantial, as, after all....these are car seats we're talking about. And they're just gross. So any guidance would be appreciated.
