Hole in flame trap hose = poor idle? 200 1990

My 1990 240 200k brick doesn't idle and runs horrible. Problem just started happening. I have 1-1-1 on socket 2. My flame trap hose (the large s shaped one) has a huge hole. Could this be causing the poor engine performance? Replaced dist cap, rotor, spark plug wires. Unplugged AMM and it made no difference. Am almost ready to take car to shop.
