Low Heat/ Gauge hardly moves 200 1993

About a 2 months ago I noticed my temp gauge was not sitting at mid-point but about halfway between bottom and mid-point. I removed the compensation board per the established procedure about a year ago and all was fine(gauge sat at mid-point).

Ordered new thermostat and installed last month, still had issues with gauge sitting at midpoint, sometimes it did, sometimes it didn't. Now this morning I noticed that gauge barely moved and air coming from heater was just barely warm!

What the heck is going on? Is this hew thermostat bad?
