(red wagon) Seems like a good reason for the fuel pump to fail. We'll see if the new fuel pump and filter fix the intermittent hesitation / stalling...
Went to try to shake all the gas out of the old pump, and all this red jelly gunk glopped out. I bet I know what I'll see when I take out the in-tank pump. What might have caused this, and could I maybe keep it from happening again right away by keeping the gas tank more or less full?
My '83 (green car) gas tank was clean as a whistle, and the old fuel pump was still working great when I changed it out a couple of years ago.
waaaaah. For now, I just want to have this handy station wagon to drive occasionally, using most of my car-energy on the Lovely Green Beast.
BTW, PBlaster really loosens up 23-year-old fuel filter fittings! At least if you spray/whack/spray/whack and leave it for several days. It turned so easily it surprised me.
