Trans cooler leaking into radiator or vice versa? 700

I just posted about my 1990 740 and there is a new development.

The trans just started leaking a milky beige/brown fluid just below the bell housing.

I know it's trans fluid because it smells like it and my trans fluid is low.

Upon closer inspection it appears that there are water droplets in the beige/brown fluid on the ground.

So I'm driving down the road and thinking "how the hell could water get in the trans?" and a light goes on in my head. I immediately pull over and remove my overflow cap (slowly). Viola, it's bone dry. That was a close one.

No coolant leaks anywhere however and I just did the water pump and topped off the coolant a couple weeks ago so I know it should be full.

So I believe that the trans cooler is leaking into the radiator and/or the other way around. However, when I pull the trans dipstick the fluid looks just fine (not milky beige/brown).

Has anyone else experienced this?

What all did you need to replace? (Just the radiator?)

Why is it leaking around the bell housing? (all the way up on top too!)

Thanks for the help!
