Was getting my '68 144 with B18B out from winter storage. A year ago I replaced the HS6s with worn shafts with a pair of rebuilt HIF6s.
The idle was a bit high after taking choke off. Back HIF6 idle screw wouldn't move and was bit rusty. I sprayed it a few times with PB blaster. Worked it a bit back and forth with a nut driver. Should have took more time as the screw twisted off flush. (
I'm going to pull the carb off and see how much of the screw is sticking out the other side. I'm not thinking I have much hope in getting it out and think I will have to drill and tap it. If it gets to that should I use a fine metric tap? There is a spring hooked around the screw I assume to prevent the screw from moving. Looking for suggestions prior to taking the next step. I have never had much luck with an easy out and this screw is small.
