Does my '95 945T have clear coat? 900 1995

Hi

My 1995 945 Turbo (LPT) has a white colour coat ( Volvo code number 189).

It has spent it's life in the harsh Australian sun and is looking faded. A local
body shop says that Volvo didn't use clear coats on their white models. Is this
true?

My other car, a 1991 745 , use metallic beige (400) and a clear coat.

Any info would be appreciated as the $ difference (to repaint the 945)
Is considerable.
