radiator-AC condenser gap 700

good evening Brickboarders,

A couple of weeks ago, I replaced the 10 year old, all metal Nissen's double row radiator in my 740. This radiator was no longer available, so I used the only one Nissen's had, namely the single row with plastic side tanks. This radiator is a whopping 1.5 inches thick compared to the 2.5 inch thick two row.

It is hot here in the south, and I have noticed higher AC evaporator temps. I believe this is caused by lack of air flow across the AC condenser. The engine fan pulls air through the radiator, but not through the condenser because of the now 1 inch air gap along the top and sides between the radiator and the condenser.

So, my question is, what insulating material should I use to fill the gaps along the sides and top? I vaguely remember some foam insulation between the original radiator and the condenser. I haven't checked, but I bet this material is no longer available from Volvo, and even if it is, it would be pricey. I suppose I need to use some sort of high temp foam. Any recommendations?

Thank you in advance,
Jim
