....is a simple voltmeter, stuck in one of the bezels next to the radio. In a very short period of time, it has saved my bacon by giving me an early indication of the following problems:
(1) Dying alternator
(2) Flaky voltage regulator
(3) Loose alternator belts
(4) Lower alternator clamp bolt that lost its backing nut--was working its way out.
Spent the few extra bucks on a VDO gauge. Was money well worth not having to spend time at the side of the road while the charging system slowly failed in secret. Highly recommended for the added peace of mind.
