Hi, All-

I have replaced the steering rack in my 1985 240, and am now trying to fit the universal joint over the steering rack gear shaft. I've used a screwdriver to try to pry the universal joint apart, but it's still on fitting easily over the steering rack gear.

Is the steering gear 'keyed' - meaning does it only fit at a certain orientation, or should it fit over know matter where it's rotated? In looking at the old rack, I don't see that it would fit over in a specific orientation. The Bentley says "make sure the pinion shaft recess is lined up to receive the clamping bolt". What does that mean?
