While attempting to replace an worn out linkage bushing a bad idea was to remove the sector arm on the transmission..
Yes the nut broke flush with the arm and the arm is still holding on.

Is it a possibility to weld a spot on it to hold it in place?

Am I at a severity of stupidity or can it be redeemed?

Hopeless now.
