So my p1800 is running pretty well thanks to the help from this list....
However, I thought it was time to check/clean out the Auxiliary Air Regulator - the valve thing that is attached to the front side of the head with hoses that lead to the inlet manifold.
There are two Allen bolts that secure the Regulator housing to the head. Unfortunately in my enthusiasm to remove the housing, I broke one of the bolts. Now there is a slight coolant leakage around the housing (not dripping, but a bead of moisture around where the housing meets the head).
My trusty mechanic tried to remove the other bolt (heating, etc.) but found it was too stuck - the risk is if this other bolt breaks, then there is nothing to hold the housing to the head, the car is not drivable (coolant leak) and removing the stubs in-situ would be difficult. It ultimately may require the head to be removed to drill them out and re-thread the holes.
I'm not losing coolant when I drive around, but any suggestions on how to deal with this?
Thanks all
