Periodically, after driving our 1993 Volvo 240, the car will not start. More specifically, the when the key is turned to start, the dashlights come on but the solenoid does not acutate the starter motor. This only occurs when the engine is hot. I either have to wait until the engine cools or tap on the solenid to actuate the starter motor. I presume that it may be a faulty solenoid switch. Replacing the solenoid involves removing the starter motor/solenoid assembly. There are two 19mm bolts that attach the starter motor to the bell housing but I am having difficulty reaching the bolts. What is the best way to remove the starter motor? Any advice will be appreciated!
Thanks,
