For those of you who might be interested, I drove the 64 money pit to St. Louis (330 mile from here) last month and only had 2 (self inflected) problems. I failed to put loktite on the Alternator pivot bolt nut, and it came off, the bolt viberated out enough to loosen the drive belt. I was lucky to be near the exit at Rolla, Mo. and a nearby O'reilly's came in very handy. The other problem was a loose bolt that keeps the distributer from turning. Lucky for me "Walrus" was nearby and by phone suggested that timing might be the problem. It was.
It was a good show, LOTS of nice cars, and I received a 3rd place trophy---Spectator Judging.
The return trip was un-eventful, and my gas milage was 28.8 per gallon. Brickboard is a great site, and I appreciate the response to my questions. I also take great interest in questions asked by others. Skeet
