After 5+ years of owning my '88 245, I decided to spring the money to get my (converted) A/C refilled and working for the first time since I bought her. Great news: system holds vacuum just fine and seems to be nice and chilly. Problem: If I have the AC going, the car boils over. I have had it happen twice now and am a little frustrated. Seems to be better when the car is moving (and thus more air being passed over the radiator), and sitting it will boil over within minutes of being started if the A/C is on. With no A/C on, car runs fine, no overheating (though my temp gauge has decided to only work intermittently so I might rip the comp board out to get it working again). Any ideas why the car is cooking itself with A/C on?
