greetings, I am thinking of getting new tires for my 87 240 and am having alot of trouble deciding. right now I have on a set of goodyear integrity 185 70r14s that I have had for 10 years due to the fact I have not had to rely on my car too much for transportation. they have about 1/16th of an inch left, or just up to the head of george on the quarter so they have a little life in them. I am just concerned with the age. I am planning on driving from portland to the bay area and dont know if I should put my trust in them for such a long trip, though Part of me says 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' Also, they are not that great in wet conditions. Could anyone help me with finding a tire that will perform ok without breaking the bank? Since I live in the PNW wet performance is important. I figure ill have to spend about 300 bucks and have looked into most of the top brands and Les Schwab, I may just go to les because they are everywhere up here and if I have a problem they will be easy to deal with but I dont know how good their tires are. If anyone can give me advice that would be great.
thanks
