Yesterday I completed the installation of oil pressure and volt gauges. Fairly simple to fabricate the trim which is a piece of 1/4" plywood painted with some gray paint I had laying around. Just posting for what it's worth, maybe some others have thought about doing something similar but needed an idea.

Purpose behind the oil pressure gauge was some recent diagnostic work I was doing on the engine which was knocking. It was apparently a spark knock because Seafoam through the vacuum hose eliminated the knocking. Anyway, one of my diagnostics was checking oil pressure. I figured after 260,000 miles, it can't hurt to know what the pressure is instantaneously. While I was at it, I added another cigarette lighter and a volt gauge.

I will finish the job in the coming weeks by adding more screws to make it look like it is meant to be there. Of secondary note is the aftermarket radio which I slipped in a number of years ago after the factory cassette player quit. The size of the radio is a perfect fit for the original trim plate to be reinstalled, making the radio look as though it belongs there.
