HIGH NOX AT 15 MPH 200

Hello Everyone,

First I just want to thank everyone for how helpful this forum has been to me. It has enabled me to get my 91 Volvo 240 Wagon up and running, beautifully!

I need you guys help in diagnosing what can be causing my failed smog.

Fist the visual inspection-FAIL
The only reason it failed is because the pre-heat hose. It is missing, however that is an easy fix.

Second the Functional Check-FAIL
The only reason is the check engine light does not come on during start up. Easy fix because I believe it is just a burnt out bulb.

Lastly the Emission Test-FAIL
This is what it looks like.

15 MPH Test

RPM 1622
CO2% 13.9
O2% 1.2
HC(PPM) Max(116) Avg(27) Meas(96)
CO% Max(.74) Avg(.09) Meas(.44)
NO(PPM) Max(791) Avg(225) Meas(1140)--FAIL

25 MPH Test

RPM 2607
CO2% 14.8
O2% 0.0
HC(PPM) Max(91) Avg(18) Meas(61)
CO% Max(.62) Avg(.07) Meas(.46)
NO(PPM) Max(730) Avg(223) Meas(590)

What do you guys think? Just for informational purposes, these are the items I have replaced recently. New- AMM, Exhaust from y-pipe down including muffler, resonator, and catalytic converter, plugs, plug cables, distributor cap and rotor, idle control valve, pcv hoses and flamtrap, air filter, both fuel pumps, fuel filter. Replace the throttle position switch with a used one. Probably more but that is all I can think of right now.

I have been using regular gasoline, however I think I am going to use high octane until I pass.

Thanks for you guys help, any input is greatly appreciated.

Garrett
