Please excuse the anonymous earlier post, couldn't remember password.

So the dreaded white solenoid wire from the shifter to the solenoid has shed it's skin and rendered the overdrive inoperable. I temporarily patched it up a couple of weeks ago but the problem has returned probably due to my inadequate patch job. It seems like such a simple fix to replace that wire but of course the location disqualifies simplicity. I did search the archives but have yet to see a clear path to getting the wire through that rubber grommet with ease.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
