When I went to change my rear brake pads, one wheel had no "clips" (that cross shaped piece that presses down on the pads ) and the other side had a half broken one. It will be a few days before I can get new clips. What do they do anyway? Is this a big problem? Also, when I went to buy pads that asked whether the car had independent suspension (to choose correct pads) - what's the connection there?
