There is play in my 84 244's differential. Is there a way to adjust the backlash, or do I have to replace the whole rear axle?

Also, is there a way to tell if it's a Limited-Slip? I did read the sticker (didn't clean it with brake cleaner and remove the ink like on my 740) and it's a 3.31 ratio.

PS I am planning on selling the car, and am not interested in replacing the whole rear-end.
