exhaust under axle 200

I just replaced the exhaust system from the front muffler back, on my 1985 240 DL sedan. But now I seem to get a lot of vibration. The middle pipe between the two mufflers goes under the axle. And the front muffler is held up so tight by the rubber ring hangers, that the middle pipe is pushed up into the underside of the axle. Is that bend in the middle pipe supposed to make contact with the axle, or should there be some clearance?
