IPD Coolant Temp Sensor bad in 3 months? 200

1990 stick. 3 months ago, my diagnostics showed a 2-2-4, so I replaced the coolant temp sensor. Idled better, better mileage since mixture was correct.

Now, same thing! Do these things go bad like that? Is the IPD item a piece of junk? Is there some other condition that could aggravate things?

Was not that fun to change...
