Phatom ventilation fan and some random short circuiting 200 1986

There's some major short circuiting going on in my 86 245 that has led to:
the power locks not working
the door ajar alarm being set off when flipping the switch for the overhead light (which does not work) and the opening of the glove box (whose lamp also does not work)
and most recently the ventilation fan being permanently stuck on

The battery terminals get real corroded real quick so I know there is a drain somewhere in this beast. Here's where it just got interesting though:
After doing the fuel filter and an oil change (which involved disconnecting the battery several times) I went for a very long drive (maybe 700 miles) and within the first five minutes a crazy rattling noise started up in the dash/front console and it did not end for the remainder of the drive. The fan was turning at its lowest speed from what I could tell.
Now what's damn interesting about this is that months ago, when the fan first started just remaining on during any damn drive I pulled the fuse for it. Hence, now I am getting this rattling noise (like a machine gun at low volume) and a fan spinning WITH NO APPARENT SOURCE OF POWER.

Just wondering where to start looking for these weak links. Everywhere? Yikes.

Any ideas would be a godsend. Thanks fellas
