Hi Volvo Enthusiasts,
I posted this question last week, but cannot find it today. Must have done it incorrectly. If someone finds the previous one, please let me know where it is.
Here is the issue. !991 Volvo 240 wagon with auto trans, A/C, and 110,000 miles on the odometer. In the process of troubleshooting a hesitation issue, I decided to replace the original crank position sensor(CPS)because it is now over 20 years old.
I am hoping to find someone who has actually performed this procedure on my exact vehicle. I have read just about every post that mentions the CPS. They all describe it as being in the same place, and some describe the difficulty of removing and replacing it. No one has ever mentioned how difficult it is to find the CPS, which leaves me wondering why I am having such difficulty. I have tried to look behind the engine from the top – can’t get my head back there far enough. I tried looking through the side – no way. I tried feeling for it. I cannot get my hand in the space between the engine and the firewall to feel for it. There are too many wires and things that don’t allow my hand to go down there.
If one of you has performed this operation on a 91 with A/C, I’d like to hear how you did it.
