Ive started a "new" thread as the other was getting a bit long,and THIS is long,i read all of the other posts, yes I agree that Art seems to know what he is talking about and I have shown some of his replies copy-pasted to mechanics and even to the dealer. I have talked about the cluster and fast idle issue also with George S. and he said its NOT in the cluster. "sigh" i have definetly tried to relay Arts words to those who need to listen. yeah as if they listen, maybe they do some, but ?

George I have trusted and known personally for quite awhile, and its not that I dont trust Art its just that I AM NOT A VOLVO MECHANIC. I am at the mercy of those who “know.” I show copy-pastes from here at times to show to those who are supposed to know. I will say this last part as far as the symptoms, so far, seems to be resolved,NO FAST IDLE! The check engne light is staying OFF.

So somewhere along the line maybe something some of you said that I referred to my mechanics here did something cuz they listened?. It just so happens the LAST thing I did was to replace the whole cluster BUT the odometer and trip meter was not working so I had those particular parts replaced AND for some reason everything is "suddenly" good! I DON’T KNOW WHY! Certainly simply replacing the cluster and those parts didn’t, couldnt?“fix” everything, but,its fixed,so far.

Ive even tried to make the idle too fast by driving hard, still its ok. I really feel helpless when I try to discuss something, (like say Art maybe said) with a mechnic here and they seem to listen but soemtimes they don’t I think. Next time IF there is a next time, can I get Art to come here and kick the mechanics tail and MAKE them listen? Seems they hate to hear: “BUT this guy in the Brickboard said that or this”. I think when I say it they only seem to be listening maybe cuz they are aware Im pretty inexperienced about Volvos.

I think sometimes some even get offended and maybe they feel Im making them feel like they don’t know anything by me quoting someone else. Do you know also how many times Ive had some "pooh-pooh" the 'brickboard'?

Sometimes I wish I still had my ‘57 Chevvy with the 327 I put in it. I KNEW those engines and trans. If you see a Delorean that can go back to the future, please let me know. Thanks for everyone that has tried to help and support my Volvo issues.

As long as I have a Volvo Ill ask about things here, at least might have a fighting chance to fix things, actually HAVE things fixed,I cant do it myself.and I THINK just maybe something that was said here that i did try to relate maybe got thru to a mechanic and he tried looking at it?? maybe,maybe.
