You guys are so good at this sorta thing, I thought I would try to stump you again.
Check out these pictures. Closeup it reads: "MUST POINT UP WHEN PARKED". Which is good advice, btw.
This finlike device was OEM on the early 164 and 140 wiper on the driver's side (US). I think on the 1800 also. I have one on my 1969 164 and there was also one on my '70 and '71 164's. I always thought is was there to air-assist in moving the blades in the rain. Does that make sense? I could ask This Old House.
