My '84 242 was rear ended and totalled. At fault party's insurance is low balling me 200 1984

Two months ago I bought a pristine '84 242DL off a gentleman. 150,000 miles. Single owner car since new. Body was perfect, paint perfect. This car was a time capsule back to 1984 when it rolled off the showroom car. All original. Anyways, after driving it for 2 weeks I was rear ended. The car is totalled.

The at fault's insurance company is low balling me and offering me $2,000 for the car. They are basing their valuation on 4 door models because there are no 2 door models for sale that they can compare to.

This is ridiculous! My 2 door was far my rare and valuable in my opinion than a 4 door. Their insurance company wants me to prove that my car is worth more, but I am having a hard time proving the value since the car is rare enough that there aren't a whole ton of them on the market.

I'm considering pursuing this in small claims court. I think I should be getting around $4,000 for the car.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks
