Can I use a Bosch 3321 oil filter? 200 1993

The in-store books indicate that my '93 240 requires a Bosch 3402 oil filter. I think that is what I installed last time and it barely fits. I had to remove an alternator wire to squeeze it in. It appears that the Bosch 3321 is the same diameter but shorter. Can I use the 3321?
