940 EGR temp sensor (4-1-3 fault) 900 1995

Hey guys, this is my first post, but I've been using Brickboard for a couple of months now for my 1995 940 that was rearended, destined for 24 Hours of LeMons, but then abandoned as all of the team members' life situations were changing... some day though, right?

I rescued the car for a backup car/hauler, and was getting a 2-2-4 code on the ignition module (socket 6 of Box A), which is an ECT fault. I replaced that sensor and then discovered that you have to keep cycling through to get all of the codes, so then I realized I also have an EGR temp sensor fault (4-1-3). I pulled it out and tried cleaning it (as recommended here) then disconnected the battery negative to reset everything. Everything looked good for about 30 seconds, then Check Engine came back. It was now just 4-1-3.

I should also mention that the car won't kick on the cooling fan at all... it will run the fan at low and high speed though when you put the car into the injection system diagnostic mode that runs through the injection system.

As the multiple sources I looked at list this temp sensor for upwards of $90 (!) I am wondering if I should search out a used sensor from a Pull and Pay junkyard. Right now, there's a 240 at a Pull and Pay near me in Cincinnati.

Does the 240 have an EGR temp sensor (I don't even know if she even rocks EGR at all...), and if so, is it the same as in the 940's?

Not completely sure if this is a repeat question, but I couldn't find this question in a search of the RWD forum.

Thanks,
JR
