I went in for hip surgery, so the 745 sat for a couple of months. At one point it had to be moved and the battery was too weak (it's old) so I charged it and put it on a battery tender. Today was when I could start driving, so I went out to start it. I think I heard it fire a couple of times, but it didn't start. All id does is crank, but I think I can smell gas and I checked #1 plug and it smelled like gas had got there and looked a little wet.
In the past it has cranked and failed to start a few times and I got it going by pulling and replacing the fuel pump fuse. I tried that this time, but it didn't help. The fact that I smell gas must mean the fuel pump isn't kaput. But lately I have often smelled gas. Looking under the car I think I see a small wet spot in the gravel around the middle of the car and when I poke a stick in it, I think I can small gas. Maybe I have a tiny leak in the gas line. Could that be enough to prevent the car from starting?
Any suggestions would help, because I really need the car tomorrow.
