1986 740 random stalling 700 1986

This last month or so my 1986 740 GLE has had similar problems as described in several of the posts on this forum. Thanks to all who replied to those posts I have been able to do some things on my car that I did not have a clue about before.
The last time my car stalled it happened when I pulled away at a green light. Shifted to first gear, second gear and then third gear. At about 30 mph the engine stalled. Coasted into a bus stop and just before the car came to a complete stop I shifted back to second gear and the engine fired up like nothing had happened. I let it idle for a couple of seconds till the traffic cleared and drove home without anymore problems.
Engine performs and idles fine. a little fast at 1100 but it has always done that.
When this stalling first started about a month ago I replaced plugs, dist. cap and rotor, oil and filter, cleaned the air filter. Checked and tightened any contacts on the coil. Also replaced the Noise suppression relay and a Fuel pump relay which I still had from the last time I ordered parts. In the last eighteen months we replaced the timing belt. Checked the air intake thermostat by taking the hose of by the exhaust manifold when the engine was hot and plugging it up. No change in engine idle.
The engine performs and idles just fine. Lots of power, lots of speed on the highway.
Last night I took of the throttle body and cleaned it. It had some sooth but otherwise looked fine.
Also took of the Ignition System Power Stage (the four bolts felt a little loose) and cleaned the area between the aluminum plate which attaches to the inner fender and the module. It looked like it had white oxidation. Is this right or does it need to have some other stuff in between?
Some issues that are might be/probably are related: 1; Service light has been on just before the stalling happened. 2; High gas mileage. Less then 250 miles to a tank. 3; Intermittent idling. Cold start it idles at about 800. Within 20 seconds it goes up to about 1400 and when warm it does about 1100.
Going to work now and hope that that the above will have helped, but you never know it could be a week before it stalls again. :-(
Would appreciate any comments about what to do next and if I did right with the Power Stage.
Thanks for listening.
