Transmission Noise in Reverse, Automatic AW-70 200

Hey,

So, I have a 91 240 Sedan, Auto with an AW70 in it. Its in mostly good condition, needed new Rear Bushings BAD when I bought it, but it runs fine. Ive put about 4K or so on it since I got it (Currently at 256K Miles).

Now, the entire time Ive had its had this issue in reverse, where *Sometimes* it makes this awful kind of metallic twisting kind of noise (Tends to get rapidly louder the longer it goes on, but once it starts Im usually real careful with it, usually needs more then just a little power too to start it). It IS related to the speed at which the car is moving, and its *more* likely to occur reversing backwards up a hill, or when theres more weight (More passengers usually) in the car. It NEVER does this in any other gear. The car doesn't feel to me to be specifically losing power when this occurs, but Ive never really pushed it when its occurring to get a good sense for that.

On Flat surface, with just me in the car, and low power I can reverse continually with no ready problems (Though Ive never done this past about half a block or so).

After that, it shifts ok in all other gears, up to 75MPH, it jerks a tiny bit during shift change *sometimes* but nothing I wouldn't expect with older ATF (I know it needs a flush, but I wanted to ask this from people with more experience first, car is NOT my daily driver atm).

Are these symptoms of Slipping? Could this be a lose Kick Down Cable? Could this just be really manky ATF? The symptoms have never seemed to get worse in the entire 4K or so miles I put on it.... Any similar experience, advice (Besides the obvious "Flush time"), insights, suggestions, observations, questions, quips, or otherwise text would be appreciated!

Thanks!
Falcus

Edited to add, I dont know if it makes a lick of difference, but I know this car still has the original Motor Mounts which are totally shot. Ive never seen an engine run so well while jiggling so much! Im wondering if the mounts being shot might have or are affecting this? IDK, just a thought I had....
